THE ROSE COURT COMPETITION

A CONTEMPORARY TAKE ON A TIMELESS TRADITION

 

A long-standing tradition of the Rose of New England’s history has been re-imagined and will make its debut at this summer's festival.  Today's Rose Court Competition is open to all genders while honoring tradition by demanding that candidates exemplify pride in Norwich, community involvement, intellect, and leadership.  

 

The competition will be judged by a mix of past winners, and prominent figures of the community.

 

Prizes:

1st Place Receives: 

-$1,000 

-Private portrait session with

CS Marchand Photography (valued at $1000)  

-The official representative of The Rose Court

at various future city events.

-Crown & Sash

2nd Place Receives:

-$250 

-Medallion & Gift

3rd Place Receives:

-$100

-Medallion & Gift

 

Applicant Criteria

Contestants must be 16-20 years old at the time of Crowning Ceremony.

All applicants must live within the greater Norwich Area (15-mile radius). 

Contest Requirements:

1) Essay (Due May 12, 2019)

250 - 500 words in length, “Community Pride.”

 

2) Interview (Friday, June 21, 2019 at The Wauregan Ballroom)

 

3) Competition (Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Mohegan Sun Cabaret Theater)
